General activities

The department is taking 250 lectures per year as per MCI norms including theory as well as practical classes. Practical are conducted with each batch of 17 students. Quiz and MCQ exams are held once in a week. Written tests are conducted after completing each chapter. Six theory classes are taken every week. With shortage of staff and basic infrastructure the department has been doing an excellent job of training students. The students have passed examinations with good performance.The examinations were supervised by renowned examiners from AIIMS, Lady HARDINGE Medical College Delhi, MM Medical College Ambala, Govt Medical College Srinagar and  University of Kashmir. They were satisfied with the preparation and the performance of the students.  

Special Achievements.

Trying to procure advanced bio-technical instruments so that department can start latest biochemical techniques like electrophoresis of serum samples, spectrophotometric techniques for analysis of various enzymes that are used for diagnosis of various biochemical abnormalities and PCR of blood samples that would allow the mutations leading to various abnormalities to be demonstrated to students 

Dr.Ruqaya Aziz was engaged as internal examiner for MBBS 1st year by SKIMS University Soura.
